Water Dripping from a Split AC Indoors: Your First Steps

Water dripping from a split AC inside the room is worth reporting promptly. Start by keeping people and belongings away from the wet area, without touching wet switches or electrical equipment. If water is reaching electrical connections, stop using the system and arrange qualified help.

Split AC leaking water: Find the visible location, not a hidden cause

From a safe position, note whether water appears at the front flap, one end of the indoor unit, the wall behind it or a nearby ceiling. A wide photo that shows the location is often more useful than a close-up of one droplet. You do not need to remove the front housing.

Describe whether the drip begins soon after operation starts, appears later or continues after shutdown. If you do not know, say so. There is no need to restart a leaking unit just to measure the interval.

Include any related change

Mention recent cleaning, installation, building work or movement of furniture around the indoor unit. Also note whether cooling changed or ice was visible before the leak. Those observations help organise an inspection, but they do not prove which part is responsible.

Avoid forcing objects into a drain opening or pouring household chemicals into the unit. Clearing a visible drip is not the same as checking the drainage arrangement, and an improvised attempt may introduce another problem.

Explain what needs access

Tell the technician if the indoor unit is high above stairs, enclosed by decoration or difficult to reach. If the outdoor unit is on a roof or ledge, report the location rather than trying to climb to it. Access should be planned before the visit.

For a Kuwait service enquiry, send Z-ONE Technical your area, system type, photos of the visible leak and any message on the controller. Keep a note of when the problem first appeared. Our AC services page gives the AC service overview; a confirmed visit can then focus on the actual leak rather than a presumed replacement part.

Indoor dripping and outdoor drainage are different

Tell us whether the water is inside the room, at the wall opening or at an outside drain outlet. A photo showing the unit and nearby wall helps establish which location you mean. Water indoors should not be dismissed because the room still feels cool.

What if the leak follows cleaning?

Include the date, which unit was cleaned and when dripping began. A change after service is useful history; it does not identify the cause by itself. Do not reopen the equipment to investigate.

What if cooling or airflow changed too?

Mention both symptoms in the same request. See our AC not cooling guide and weak airflow guide for the details to record. Keep the unit off if water is near electrical connections, and arrange safe access for inspection.
